Large resistor model (13/11/11)

Here's a roughly 10:1 scale model of a standard ¼W resistor. The body is wood, turned from a piece of 1" hardwood dowel, painted and varnished. The legs are ¼" aluminium rod. The end of each leg which fits into the body is split and spread slightly, so they're a tight fit. Inside the body, there's a real resistor sandwiched between two brass lumps. A spring ensures good contact with both legs.

See also the large 555 model I made previously.

Shows how the legs make contact with the internal resistor

There's a resistor hidden inside there with its legs soldered to the cylindrical brass pieces.
